*Each general research area contains a wide variety of disciplines and subjects. Please visit individual faculty mentor webpages for more information.
Genomics and abiotic stress includes: gene expression, stress physiology, bioinformatics, plant breeding, environmental tolerance (drought, salinity and temperature), etc.
Genomics and biotic stress includes: gene expression, plant microbiome, bioinformatics, plant pathogen interactions, insect pests, fresh produce food safety, parasitic plants, etc.
Nutrient regulation and management includes: soil fertility, runoff and water use, sustainability, cover crops, agronomic practices (like no-till), plant-soil interactions, livestock productivity, etc.
Plant communication includes: plant signaling, ecology and plant communities, plant immunity, quorum sensing, plant microbiome, bioinformatics, synthetic biology, etc.
