Applications for summer 2023 are now open! All materials must be received by March 10, 2023. [Updated 12/29/22]
Application requirements:
You must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident. Students must be enrolled in a degree granting program with a relevant major and be entering their sophomore year or later. Students should NOT plan on taking any classes or vacations during the research program; these are full-time, 40 hour-per-week positions. Students should anticipate working in both indoor and outdoor environments, as this program incorporates both bench-top science and its field applications. All students must agree to abide by all Virginia state public health rules.
The Summer 2023 program will begin on May 22nd and end on July 28th.
Interested students should download and complete the application (Word version at the bottom of this page), following the directions carefully and completely. First-generation college students, veteran or service members, and members of underrepresented groups are encouraged to apply.
The application deadline has been extended, and admission will be offered on a rolling basis to qualified applicants. The last date to submit your materials is March 10, 2023. Only completed applications will be considered for fellowships. Applicants are responsible for ensuring all documents, including the letter of recommendation, are received by the deadline listed.
